At the end of the July, we held our very first 24-hour hackathon in the history of Synergy Codes. We all agreed that it was mostly about having fun, but also about not being afraid to fail if we learn some new things on the way. A hackathon means nothing but a real coding marathon (typically a 24-48 hour event) for software developers and other people indirectly involved in software development. This codefest gives them a possibility to collaborate, to exchange ideas, compete and, above all, to deliver new solutions for which coders usually lack time on a daily basis. What’s the best thing about hackathons? You can have fun, challenge yourself and create really crazy stuff at the same time!
Every year at about the same time our office turns into a place where we gather around to pause for a moment and reflect. Christmas Eve supper is the most important celebration of the year and is normally reserved for the closest family. However, we decided to start Christmas together in a family-like atmosphere shortly before the real celebration at our homes.
.NET DeveloperDays is a prominent conference for IT professionals keen on Microsoft development stack and a great opportunity to meet the best speakers in the industry. Some of our Synergy Coders decided to visit Warsaw to expand their knowledge and broaden their horizons during that networking event. The conference took place in Hall of the EXPO XXI Center in Warsaw on October 19-20, 2015.
As Synergy Coders are known as those who enjoy spending time together, we planned to organize the very first LAN party in the office, hoping it will become the new tradition. Undoubtedly, we had a hard nut to crack by selecting the perfect multi-player game that could meet everybody’s expectations. Finally, playing some rounds of Call of Duty 2 brought back memories from our school years.
