How Synergy Codes became a four-product technology company

From a small diagramming studio to a 70+ person firm shipping open-source libraries, commercial SDKs, an AI code-intelligence tool, and custom engagements for Fortune 500 clients.

2011 · Founded

Synergy Codes opens in Wrocław, Poland

Maciej Teska starts a studio on one specialization most software houses avoided: visual interfaces for complex logic. Diagramming, data viz, and engineering-grade UIs.

Enterprise diagramming

GoJS diagram editors ship to enterprise clients

Our first commercial diagram editors on GoJS, alongside custom engineering engagements. Those delivery patterns still sit behind 200+ production systems today.

React Flow era

Among the first studios shipping React Flow in production

That production experience becomes Overflow: our React Flow component library of production-ready canvas plugins teams drop into their own apps.

Workflow Builder

Workflow Builder is born: our productized SDK

Years of custom workflow editors converge into one embeddable SDK: canvas, runtime engine, node library. It powers configurators and engineering automation inside clients' products.

AI in production

AI-native features ship inside client products

Natural-language-to-workflow and document-to-diagram pipelines go live in production. AI exactly where diagram interfaces get genuinely hard.

Open source

ngDiagram goes open-source under Apache 2.0

Our Angular diagramming library, built for production-scale diagrams and released open-source so teams build on the same engine we use.

AI R&D

Tentaro (formerly CodeQA): AI code intelligence

An AI-native developer tool from our R&D: it indexes repositories with source and dependency history, so teams get grounded answers about their own code.

70+
Our team

All people in one engineering hub

Engineers, designers, and analysts in one Wrocław hub, behind every custom engagement.

Products we own and maintain

Four products, one specialization

Synergy Codes is a technology author today. Three open-source diagramming products and one AI engineering tool – every one of them shipped through our own custom engagements before it reached anyone else.

Apache 2.0

The production-grade Angular diagramming library.

Native to Angular 18+ with a middleware-based architecture. Built for teams whose SaaS runs on Angular and can't accept React-framework wrappers or DOM-heavy canvases that choke past 1,000 nodes.

MIT + Commercial Pro

Production-ready canvas plugins for React Flow.

Edge reshaping, smart routing, auto-layout, grouping. The interactions React Flow ships without. Saves hundreds of engineering hours on features teams rebuild again and again.

MIT + Commercial €6,9

End-to-end React SDK with a runtime workflow engine.

Embed a full workflow editor into your SaaS in days, not months. Drag-and-drop canvas, node library, runtime engine, and execution state, all shipped as a React SDK you own. Reference adapters plug it into durable execution engines like Temporal, where workflows have to survive crashes and wait on a human.

AI R&D spin-off

AI code intelligence across 100+ repositories.

Grounded in real source and dependency history. Built on our own engineering R&D and released externally in 2025.

Expert-level work across the React and Angular ecosystems – React Flow, Yjs, tldraw, and AG Grid.

Partnerships & certifications

Compliance posture

EU jurisdiction. GDPR-native operations. NDA signed by default at the start of every engagement – before any technical discovery, code sharing, or scoping. Source code, designs, and product details are covered from the first call. We do not currently hold SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certifications; for procurement security reviews, we provide our internal security questionnaire response and references from existing enterprise clients.

Engagement models

Beyond project delivery

Most of our engagements don't end at handoff – three ways we stay involved.

For teams on our SDKs

Expert assurance

For teams running products built on our SDKs, React Flow, or GoJS. A monthly bank of senior hours: version migrations, performance reviews, architecture guidance, guaranteed response times.

For products after MVP

Product evolution

A fractional dedicated team – frontend, backend, and design – that keeps shipping your product after MVP. Monthly roadmap rhythm, no re-onboarding, no ramp-up tax.

For teams building with AI

AI-assist guardrails

Your team builds with AI; we review architecture and code at the points where diagram interfaces get hard: performance at scale, multi-user collaboration, edge cases. You keep the speed, we keep you out of dead ends.

Every model is configured per project – team mix, hours, and scope are shaped around your roadmap.

IS SYNERGY CODES A FIT?
Reviewed by Maciej Teska (CEO) and Łukasz Jaźwa (CTO) · Last verified 2026-09-01
  • What size of clients does Synergy Codes work with?

Synergy Codes works across the full spectrum: innovative startups validating a first product, mature SaaS platforms scaling against thousands of concurrent users, and Fortune 500 enterprises with seven-figure procurement gates. The 70+ in-house team (engineers, designers, and analysts in Wrocław, Poland) is structured to flex from 5-person prototype engagements to multi-quarter platform builds. Recent enterprise clients include Siemens, Canon, BMW, Autoliv and TotalEnergies.

  • What industries has Synergy Codes shipped to?

200+ production systems across insurance and InsurTech, energy and utilities, audio-visual systems, manufacturing, automotive, defense, AI and SaaS, telecom, and finance. The common thread: customer-facing products that run on complex logic, real-time data, or dependencies, and that need to surface as interactive visual interfaces – diagram editors, workflow editors, schematic configurators, knowledge graphs, real-time IoT or SCADA dashboards, and AI-assisted canvas tooling.

  • When should you NOT hire Synergy Codes?

If your need is generic web app development, mobile app builds, marketing websites, or backend microservices without visual interface complexity, Synergy Codes is not the right specialist. The team is purpose-built for products involving diagram editors, workflow editors, schematic tools, knowledge graphs, real-time IoT dashboards, and AI-assisted visual interfaces. For everything outside that, point your RFP at a better-fit shop – we'll tell you so on the first call.

  • What's Synergy Codes' track record at production scale?

200+ production systems shipped since 2011. Performance benchmark: 5,000+ interconnected nodes rendered at 60fps in production (not a demo), with multi-user collaboration over Yjs and real-time data streams. The four products Synergy Codes owns and maintains – ngDiagram, Overflow, Workflow Builder, and Tentaro – are battle-tested against these workloads before they ship to clients. Clutch rating: 4.9 / 5.0 across 30+ verified reviews.

  • How does Synergy Codes compare to large software houses or freelance contractors?

Synergy Codes is a specialty studio, not a generalist software house. The team is in-house (no subcontractor chains, no freelancer rotation), senior-only on engagements (no junior intake layer), and built around four products the company owns and maintains. The trade-off: Synergy Codes does not bid on generic development work; we only engage where canvas UX, performance at scale, and long-term IP ownership matter.

  • Where is Synergy Codes located, and how does the team work with global clients?

Synergy Codes is headquartered in Wrocław, Poland (EU member state). The full team operates from one engineering hub – no offshored delivery, no subcontractor chains. Time zone: CET / CEST (UTC+1 / UTC+2), the same as Berlin, typically 6 hours ahead of New York and 9 hours ahead of San Francisco. The team works primarily in English with clients across the US, UK, Europe and Asia. EU jurisdiction, GDPR-native operations, NDA signed by default at the start of every engagement.

  • Do you offer ongoing support or a retainer?

Yes – three models: Expert assurance (senior hours + SLA for teams on our SDKs), Product evolution (a fractional team that keeps shipping post-MVP), and AI-assist guardrails (architecture review of what your team builds with AI). Each is configured per project.

  • What does Synergy Codes specialize in (and what's outside that scope)?

Inside scope: visual interface systems for products that run on complex logic, real-time data, and dependencies – diagram editors, workflow editors, product configurators, engineering diagram automation, knowledge graphs, real-time IoT and SCADA dashboards, AI-assisted canvas tooling, and human-in-the-loop layers over durable execution engines (Temporal and similar) running long-lived AI-agent workflows. Outside scope (and we'll tell you so): generic CRUD applications, mobile apps without canvas complexity, marketing websites, and generalist backend microservices. The specialty is the moat – it has been the entire bet since 2011, and saying “no” to everything else is what keeps the bar where it is.

WORKING WITH US
Reviewed by Mateusz Jagodziński (Solutions Engineer) · Last verified 2026-09-01
  • What does a typical engagement look like in the first 30 days?

Week 1: first call. Fit check, product demo, your needs on the table. NDA signed right after the call, materials exchanged if you have them. Week 2: Discovery Session — up to two hours, with a designer, business analyst, and tech lead on our side. Weeks 2–4: proposal. Plan, pricing, team composition, timeline. Everything to this point is free of charge. Once you accept, the team starts within one to two weeks. That is the standard rhythm, not a fixed gate — tell us you're on a deadline and we compress it: discovery and proposal inside one week, kickoff right after. For prototypes, PoCs, and MVPs, a working prototype lands within days of kickoff.

  • How do discovery and kickoff work?

Two things share the name. The Discovery Session is pre-sale: a working session of up to two hours with your tech lead and product owner, plus our designer, business analyst, and tech lead. We walk through your stack, constraints, and goals. Output: a proposal with a recommended way forward and a ballpark estimate for the whole project. The Discovery Phase is part of the project itself: typically two weeks, where our product designers dive into the domain, study your users, and build mockups and prototypes. Output: a concrete, validated plan in place of the initial ballpark. Pure contract-dev engagements usually skip the phase and go straight to delivery. Kickoff happens within one to two weeks of proposal acceptance.

  • Who owns the code and IP after a project ends?

You own all custom code and IP delivered. Full source code, full repository history, full design files – transferred at the end of every engagement. No subscriptions, no lock-in, no per-seat licensing on custom work. Our productized SDKs (Workflow Builder, Overflow) come under commercial licenses; ngDiagram is Apache 2.0. Handover options: full knowledge transfer to your in-house team, partial ongoing support, or us staying on as your canvas team. Your choice, written into the contract.

  • What are typical pricing scenarios?

Two tracks. Products – Workflow Builder, Overflow, and ngDiagram (Apache 2.0, free); commercial editions ship under one-time or annual license, with pricing on the product pages. Custom engagements – quoted on scope after discovery; typical custom diagram or workflow editor builds range from focused prototypes (small fixed-scope engagements) to multi-quarter platform work for Fortune 500 clients, with ranges provided in writing after a 30-minute scoping call. We do not bill by the hour for custom work. Every engagement is milestone-based with a defined scope, fixed senior team, and named deliverables.
